Cloud migration is one of the forms of IT infrastructure optimization. This is one of the most important processes in today’s digital transformation. This solution was chosen by our client, who is an expert in food additives and a trusted partner in the food industry in Poland and around the world.

The project included comprehensive preparation, configuration and migration of the Oracle database environment version 19c to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The goal was to safely check the organization’s readiness for production migration and minimize operational and business risks, and the final stage was the migration itself. Red Stack Poland provided the client with full support in the project.

In the first stage, an analysis of the existing environment, database parameters and system performance under real operating conditions was carried out. On this basis, optimization recommendations and guidelines for the proper selection of cloud resources were prepared, ensuring the efficiency and scalability of the new environment.

The next step was to configure the OCI infrastructure, including the network, secure VPN connections to on-premise systems in two locations, and the launch of Oracle Base Database Service along with backup mechanisms.

The test migration stage allowed for practical verification of the process of moving the production base to the cloud. Potential issues and limitations were identified, giving the organization a complete picture of the risks, costs, and requirements before migration.

The next step of migration was to move the production base to OCI. And this is a step toward production use as a fully managed service. After several months of using the production database, the client decided to completely transfer the entire application to OCI. This process opened up new opportunities in terms of operational flexibility, availability, and resilience of the customer’s data environment.

For the customer, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is particularly attractive. Its priority is to maintain business continuity, data security and effective operating costs. This solution supports a broad spectrum of cloud services and enables seamless migration of company’s critical workloads to the cloud.
